The Olympians - Episode 1: Zeus

Updated: Jun 4, 2019

Zeus (Roman Form: Jupiter) is the king of the gods and the greatest olympian. His parents were Kronos and Rhea, King and Queen of the Titans. His brothers and sisters, Demeter, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, and Hestia were swallowed by their father after birth. Zeus was the last of the six children, so his mother gave Kronos a stone instead of Zeus. Then, he was raised by nymphs in a secret cave and met his first wife, Metis. He owned the heavens, while brother Poseidon owned the seas and the Underworld is for Hades.

Zeus is the father of Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, Athena, Hermes, and Ares. He had Apollo and Artemis with Leto, Dionysus with Semele, Athena with Metis, and Ares and Hephaestus with Hera. He also had Hermes with Maia, daughter of the titan Atlas.

He is most famously shown with a staff and a lightning bolt. He is very stubborn and emotional. He always argues with Hera and can cause a lot of thunderstorms when doing that. He has a lot of demigod children too. Dionysus was one but was turned into the god of wine by his father afterwards. Other famous ones are like Perseus and Hercules. Perseus cut off Medusa's head and returned it to Olympus and Hercules killed evil mythological creatures like the Hydra and the Nemean Lion.

Zeus is the most famous god in greek mythology. Most of the time he is nice and merciful, but sometimes he is cruel to humans and show no sign of mercy. The Olympians - Episode 2 is going to come out very soon, and it will be about Poseidon. Thank you for reading this!
