The Olympians - Episode 11: Aphrodite

Aphrodite, or Venus in roman form, is the goddess of love and beauty, and my second least favorite olympian. The reason that I don't like her is because she is the right-now wife of Ares and she betrayed Hephaestus, who is my favorite god in all myths. She got her name from aphros, or foam in english, because she was born from the foam of the sea. And this is Charles (the Great) here, co-founder of this website. Aphrodite is the daughter of Ouranos, the sky. She is the most ancient olympian, since Ouranos is the grandfather of Zeus. When Ouranos was destroyed by Kronos, his son, his remaining parts fell into the sea and the foam turned into Aphrodite. So she is the last child of Ouranos. She is the mother of Eros, or more known as Cupid. She also had Phobus (Panic), Deimus (Fear), and Harmonia (Harmony) with Ares.

Aphrodite secretly loved Ares after Zeus gave Aphrodite to Hephaestus as his wife. Since Hephaestus is ugly (on the outside) and Aphrodite is the most beautiful of the gods, they don't come together. As I mentioned in Episode 4, love and war always come together. Hephaestus have a divorce with Aphrodite, and he was not sad of it. Aphrodite also liked Anchises. There is one more thing. Aphrodite had Hermaphrodite with Hermes. It is mentioned in Hermes' episode.

Aphrodite is good and bad. She betrays many of her lovers, but help other people with things related to love. She gave to beauty to all humanity. She is not my favorite olympian but we still have to respect her. This is my first time posting about a female god. James will post the next episode. See ya next time, sir/ma'am!!!
