The Titans - Episode 1: Kronos

Kronos, or Saturn in his Roman form, is the titan of time and the ruler of the titans. He is the father to some of the olympians and grandfathers to the others. He is the brother of Aphrodite, since they have the same father, Ouranos. He is most famously shown as holding a scythe. This is Charles here. This is the first post/episode in the Titans category. Enjoy!

Kronos is the son of Ouranos, or Uranus, and the grandchild of Gaea, or Terra. Gaea persuaded Kronos to defeat the titans' father, Ouranos, with his brothers and sisters. After Ouranos fell, his remaining parts went into the sea, and the foam that was made from the parts turned into Aphrodite (spoilers in episode 11 of the Olympians category).

He swallowed his children- Hades, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia, but his wife, the titaness Rhea, gave Kronos a stone instead of baby Zeus, the last of the six children that was born. Then after Zeus grew up and freed his siblings, the Big Three (Zeus, Po, and Hades) got weapons from the Cyclops, they defeated Kronos and trapped him into Tartarus.

In the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, (NOW, THERE SHALL BE SPOILERS for PJ and the Olymians) Kronos was awaked by Luke Castellan, son of Hermes, He Who Betrayed the Other Demigods and His family. So the Titan War II started, which was way more interesting (in my opinion) than the first Titan War, maybe because Rick described it better, more humorously.

This is the first post about the Titans, so it may not be as exciting as the previous posts. But fortunately, I promise that my writing-about-titans skills will improve in later life. I swear on the River Styx (Not really. Sorry, Lord Styx.). Another fact is that Kronos is also sometimes the titan of agriculture, sometimes called Cronus or Chronos, because "chron" equals to "time". Next Episode coming up is Rhea, queen of the titans. James will probably post it. See ya all mortals next time!
